New business development team to increase Holland America Line awareness
Seattle, Wash., August 16, 2011 — In response to its increased brand presence in Australia and the opening of its new sales office, Holland America Line has assembled an experienced business development team to exclusively serve Australian travel sellers on behalf of the premium line.
“Our business development team is an invaluable resource to our agent partners with their depth of knowledge of the Holland America Line products,” said Richard Meadows, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. “A dedicated team in the Australian market will provide direct support to our trade partners as our business continues to grow and help agents get to know the distinct elements that make up the Holland America Line brand.”
Leading local sales efforts are new business development managers Anthony Cooper, covering New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT); Faye Hadzis, who is responsible for Victoria and Tasmania; Lynda Kelly, who will look after Queensland and Northern Territory; and Sally Plenderleith, covering South Australia and Western Australia. Seasoned cruise veterans Andrew Loving and Catherine Rynd are the new business development representatives who will provide inside sales support. The business development team report to Director of Sales Tony Archbold.
Holland America Line will deploy ms Volendam and ms Zaandam to Australia and New Zealand in 2011-12, marking the first time the line will have two ships sailing a series of itineraries in the region simultaneously. For the 2012-13 season the line has committed ms Volendam and the 1,926 passenger Vista-class ms Oosterdam, replacing the 1,432 passenger ms Zaandam. Ten to 34-day itineraries will be introduced in and around Australia and New Zealand.
